This video shows restoration from power failure and the alerts sent out as power is restored. If you have battery backup for your internet you could even set up an alert to warn you as soon as the power fails.
The alerts can be anything from Burglar Alarms sounding, doorbell alerts, freezer alerts, green house too hot or too cold, fire doors opening etc etc.
The alerts are sent instantly to your mobile devices, PCs Pads etc. PushingBox collects the alerts and Pushbullet sends the alerts to all your devices. Using PushBullet dismissing an alert on any device will dismiss the alerts on all devices.
Arduino Ethernet shield can be used for implementing any alert system.
