A Prototype Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Indoor Air Quality Monitor with Digital Display and SD Card Data Logger for under £55

details

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Indoor Air Quality

The importance of carbon dioxide concentration as a measure of the adequacy of fresh air ventilation in an occupied space is now widely understood. In the UK systems are still expensive but can easily be assembled with just a few components. This design provides full data logging and set-point switching as well as the potential to upload data via an ethernet connection. It operates effectively in the 400 ppm – 2000 ppm range as well as logarithmically extending to 9999 ppm.
It performs the following tasks:
– Monitors sensor CO2 value approximately every 10 seconds
– Continuously displays CO2 concentration of the four Digit display in ppm
– Writes the CO2 value to the SD card approximately every 10 minutes (if inserted)
– Writes the CO2 value to the serial monitor every 10 seconds(if inserted)
