Project Idea:

Consider a situation where a person while listening to music from a sound system in one room moves to another room, the volume of music fades away.

This smart music system when incorporated, if the person moves from the first room to second room, the volume of music gradually decreases in the first room and increases in the second room and vice versa

Project Summary:

Music Emulator system controls the volume of the music being played by the sound system depending on the presence of the user with help of PIR sensor, digital potentiometers and WIZWiki-W7500 MCU.

Project Content:

Music Emulator System is a smart music system which controls the volume of the music based on the presence of the user.

Consider a situation where a person while listening to music from a sound system in one room moves to another room, the volume of music fades away.

In this smart music system, if the user is moving from one room to another room, the volume of music decreases in the first room and increases in the second and vice versa.

The presence of the user is detected by the PIR sensors placed in either room which sends either a HIGH or a LOW signal to the WIZWiki-W7500 board. It uses digital potentiometers to adjust the volume of the music played in a particular room depending on the presence of the user.

The current system of Music Emulator works only for a single person, later this system can be developed for multiple users in different rooms and exchange of music from one room to the other, depending on the presence of the user in that room.

Hardware and Components used:

  1. Arm mbed Board – WizWiki W7500
  2. 2 PIR sensors
  3. 2 Digital Potentiometers
  4. Speakers
