This shield is based on Wiznet’s W5500 ethernet interface, an upgrade from the classic W5100 version used in the first Ethernet Shields manufactured by the Italian Arduino brand in the early 2010s. W5500, this shield supports up to 8 simultaneous connections (double the old version), not to mention that it has a 32kB buffer providing an IP with TCP and UDP capability.
Work with the shield without conflict issues: each Ethernet Shield W5500 manufactured by RoboCore has a unique MAC Address, enabled by the IEEE, ensuring that there will be no conflicts on the network. The MAC Address is available on a label on the back of the RJ45 connector.
Even though it is the new generation of Ethernet Shield, this board is compatible with all Arduino boards, even if it is not the R3 standard, that is, if you had a project running with the previous shield and want to change to this shield, just use the new one. library. This shield comes with all pins soldered, including stackable connectors.
As in the previous version, this shield has a MicroSD* card slot, which can be used to save and store files from a server on the network. As an exclusive to the Ethernet Shield W5500 by RoboCore, you can know, via Arduino code, whether or not there is a Micro SD card inserted on the board.
