NetBIOS (Network Basic Input/Output System). This protocol developed by IBM in the 1980s is mainly used for small local area networks composed of dozens or so computers. One of the main uses of this protocol is to resolve computer names to corresponding IP addresses. If each device has a fixed name, on the premise that NetBIOS is implemented, the user can enter the name of the device in the browser, and then parse it through NetBIOS, and then the function of accessing the device’s web page can be realized. Moreover, NetBIOS occupies less system resources, and it is not a problem to run on a single-chip microcomputer. So I recommended this friend to implement the NetBIOS protocol on his device, which solved his troubles.
